What is ABA?
ABA believes that every behavior has a reason
Behaviors can be changed with carefully planned measures.
Children may engage in challenging behavior in order to communicate their wants and needs. ABA teaches new ways to communicate, be it verbally, via signs, or picture communication systems, which help replace the maladaptive behavior. Parents and caregivers are also taught how to more readily respond to their child’s communication attempts and engage with more ease.
Children can go from completely non-verbal to casually chatting with friends.
